Carpet FAQ’s

Carpet is easily one of the most sought after floor coverings on the market. There are few other materials that equal its softness underfoot, the plush feeling you get when walking across it, and the vast array of design options from which you can choose. It can even help to reduce the noise levels in your home, which is great if you have children, and so much more.

Callaway’s Carpet knows that choosing the right flooring is of the utmost importance and we are always here to help. That’s why we are going to go over a few of the most-asked questions from customers who are considering this flooring material. If you still have questions, however, feel free to stop by and see us. We service the areas of Abilene, Sweetwater, Coleman, Breckenridge, Stamford, Baird and surrounding areas as well, and our showroom is located in Abilene, TX. We look forward to seeing you!

How often should my carpets be cleaned?

In answer to this question, it’s always best to check what the manufacturer recommended for the particular material you have chosen. Different fibers have different characteristics and choosing the wrong method of cleaning or the wrong chemical can cause damage to your floors. This, in turn, leads to a shorter lifespan.

What is the best carpet?

The answer to this question depends on a few different factors. In fact, these are some things you should think about and have the answers for before every shopping for a floor covering.

  • Which rooms are high traffic and which are low traffic?
  • Do you spend a great deal of time at home?
  • Is there a lot of opportunity for stains?
  • Do you have children? Pets?
  • Are you looking to match a particular style?
  • Do you need to stay within a budget?

Odds are, one type of flooring will work better for you than others will. However, knowing the answers to these questions will be key in determining which one that is.

Why does the color look different in my home

Lighting naturally changes the perception of colors, especially in regards to carpeting. Since commercial lighting and residential lighting are so different, colors will appear different as well. To combat this phenomenon, we suggest you take samples home with you so you can see exactly how the colors look alongside your existing décor and walls.
